Backpacked in to Fish Creek Saddle this afternoon. Setup camp and headed out on a mile or so hike up to Grinnell Peak at 10,284 feet in elevation. Mt. San Gorgonio, elevation 11,502 is seen towards the south in the picture below.
Taking in the beauty while sitting on a rock and eating dinner. Tomorrow morning it is off on a day hike to get to the top of Mt. San Gorgonio. Now it is just me and the sunset.

Last time I made the trip up to Fish Creek Saddle, most of it was after dark and I was alone. I did not want to do that again. This time I went in the middle of the day. I also knew that I was not going to be the last one on the trail. The two other people that I was going to the top with the next day arrived at 11:45, more than two hours after I was sleeping. If I had a problem, I would be sitting on the trail waiting for them (Except for going up to Grinnell Peak. Had my whistle and I was probably within earshot of the other group at Fish Creek Saddle for the night.)
