Today I had to go in to LA for a meeting so I decided to take the train. It was an interesting adventure. The first stop was the ticket machine. There was no real sign on how to get started, just some buttons. I had to ask the person next to me what to do. […]
Tonight as I was wrapping things up at work Scott called and used his famous line, “Where are you at?” Of course I was at work. His next line surprised me, “Do you want to go sailing?” It was time to go home so I made my way home to get Scott to go sailing. […]
Almost every Saturday morning I have been walking up Mt Rubidoux. Sometimes up the road and sometimes up one of the trails. Today was a fairly cool day with a chance of rain. Overall, it was a great day for a walk.

It seems that whenever I take the puppies for a walk, they walk me. Perhaps it is more correct to say that they drag me. Nonetheless, we both get some exercise.
Today Jacob and I met with the Mt. Rubidoux District VOA to hike Mt. Rubidoux and listen to a presentation on Leave No Trace (LNT). The VOA or Venturing Officer’s Association is for the local Riverside area. Jacob and I enjoyed the hike. Jacob took my phone and too a lot of pictures for the […]
Today my little girl was married. It is a day that you think about now and then as you see your daughter grow taller and older. Twenty one years ago, it seemed like this day was forever away. Today it is here and watching a little girl eat her First Birthday banana cream pie seems […]
After taking a stroll on the boardwalk of Venice Beach I had to ask myself, is the Doctor really in or is he out? There were several places that advertised that the doctor is in and willing to write prescriptions. In fact they say, “‘Weed’ love to help you!” You can even join a club, […]
There is always change happening in universe and that extends to our little universe called home. Recently we had three more mouths added to our universe. Scott moved back in with us and he brought with him two young dogs. Of course now I have a couple of friends that will go on walks with […]
It was a nice January evening and there was a light breeze. We were working on the boats and I though I would take a break and go for a quick sail. The breeze was cool as the sun was setting in the west. It was nice to just get out and enjoy the relatively […]
Once it becomes dark out, the creatures on the night emerge. Then they try to get into my trash cans and knock them over. I thought I would share a face of darkness that only a mother could love.
A face of darkness . . .

Little Rattlesnake Mountain
It was a good day for exercise. I asked Eric if he wanted to go and his reply from his bed was no. He wanted to sleep. As for the hike, it was going to be to the top of Little Rattlesnake Mountain. The terrain is fairly steep and there […]
Sometimes I get tired of these guys. We have delivered four of them to the park in the area because they found their way into the trashcan and could not get out. This one was lucky. Eric and I got a pair of fishing nets. We then moved the board he was behind and […]
It is only Saturday evening and the weekend seems long already. Eric an I are taking the BSA Climbing Instructor class. It started Friday evening at 7:00 and we went home after 10:00 Today we met at the base of Mt Rubidoux at 8:00 in the morning. We put into practice what we leaned, setting […]
It was a fast weekend again at Powder Horn, a high adventure skills resource course or the Boy Scouts of America. The course is a six day course over two weekends and this was the second weekend. This weekend was at the Irvine Ranch Orange Education Center (OEC) we covered several more elements of the […]
As I read a post by Brigid, The Cabin, Lessons in Goodbye this morning, I reflected back in time on memories of times past. It seems that so often we are focused on where we are and where we are going that we fail to realize where we have been. Those past experiences are the […]
